This poor chap is Starkad the eight-armed Jotun. Odin bestowed upon Starkad blessings including the ability to live three lifetimes and always be victorious in battle. Thor however, not being a fan of Starkard’s giant heritage, cursed him to always receive serious wounds. Work in progress.  

More work in progress. This is a multi-page spread. Click to see a larger version. I’ve been looking at photographs of Iceland. Something that I noticed was that the landscape appears very often as horizontal bands- a layer of mountains then plains and then the sea or some rare trees.
